Small empress theater
Malyj Imperatorskyj Teatr (Small Empress Theater) was built in 1923 as a birthday present from the Tsar, Vladislav I to his younger sister, Grand Duchess Sofia, who was a huge theater lover, but despised the grandeur of Bolshoi. Unlike it's glorified brother theater, Malyj is mostly known for it's dramatic and comedy plays, modern interpretations of old-time classics and affordability.
